V-Label
The V-Label is an internationally recognized and protected trademark for identifying vegetarian and vegan products and services. Uniform criteria and regular controls make the V-Label a unique seal of quality in the “vegan” and “vegetarian” categories throughout Europe.
Counterpart and registration office in Austria is the Vegan Society Austria (VGÖ). For this purpose, the ingredients of the products including the processing aids and the manufacturing processes are checked. The on-site V-Label audit may only be carried out by authorized control bodies.
The V-Label enables consumers to classify products quickly and reliably with the easy-to-understand categories “vegetarian” and “vegan”. Many retail chains require the certification of suitable products with the V-Label.
If your company wants to use the V-Label, your company must conclude a license agreement with the Vegan Society Austria (VGÖ).
You can then commission agroVet GmbH to carry out the annual review of the V-Label specifications. In this case, please send an application to register your company/farm for the V-Label control to [email protected]. You will then receive further information on registration and the conclusion of the control contract with agroVet GmbH.
In the course of the annual on-site audit, the auditor checks the requirements of the V-Label (such as the ingredients and auxiliary materials that are and are not subject to declaration and the risk of cross-contamination).
The Vegan Society must be notified of any changes to the ingredient recipe.
The production process must be designed in such a way that no unintentional non-vegetable ingredient contaminates the product. Instructions for severe allergy sufferers according to the allergen ordinance can still be attached.
