Wiener Top Heuriger

The Wiener Heurigen: Everyone knows them, everyone loves them. In order to enter the league of the top Heurigen, numerous strict guidelines apply. We check the establishments for criteria in the areas of wine & beverage offer, food offer and buffet, presence of the host family, find-reserve-arrive, exterior design, guest rooms, table culture, as well as appearance of the staff and special features.

The winegrowers are advised and trained in advance by the Vienna Chamber of Agriculture. In order to be allowed to call themselves Heuriger according to the association's statutes, the businesses must fulfil basic criteria. In addition to being located in Vienna and being recognisable by the "Ausg'stckten" pine bush, the most important criterion is that the winery produces its own wine. This clearly distinguishes the Wiener Heuriger from other pubs, restaurants or "city Heurigen".
